>>> 2a. (not recommended; horrible, but in an emergency it will work) set >>> 8-N-1 and connect; give the CIS, account number, and password in >>> "blind" mode (stuff on the screen won't be readable) .. after which, the >>> system will switch over to fully readable text. >That sounds like what I do when I log on with Term. <g> >Jim, on AP, I too, use Term (4.3) and I use the 8-N-1/Strip-the-high-bit method…gets rid of "garbage" at log-in. Just go to your Settings/Serial/Options menu and put a check-mark in the "strip bit 8" box. Interestingly, you can configure your COMMANDS, USER I.D; and PASSWORD for each phone-book entry to automatically dial the number, log you in and GO wherever you want on CIS just by "double-clicking" on the phone-book entry. Furthermore, I have utilized the "trap-list" strings to give er operation. It's lots of fun trying to think of new ways to configure the program. Give me a holler and we'll start a conversation on this subject. Bob Jones via A1200/TERM4.3 @ 14.4K/V.42 CONNECT FROM PROV-RI
