#SCSI help needed
Trying to connect an NEC CD-ROM drive to an A2000 using a GVP Impact
A2000-SCSI-8 Rev 1 board and AsimCFDS software. The GVP comes up as
"defective" on the A2000 red warning screen. The board has no added memory
simms. I do not know where jumpers J1, J2, J3, J9 and CN11 should be
positioned. I was also told by the boards owner (its on loan) to pull two ICs
U30 (GVP1.0 EVEN 1A3B) and U29 (GVP V1.0 ODD 6909).
Does anyone know how this GVP board should be configured to work as a SCSI
interface?
Also NEC CD-ROM has a row of dip switches numbered 1 through 6 which set the
SCSI unit number. I assume that all swithches off is device 0 and that
throwing each switch in turn takes you from 1 through 6 providing the seven
number assignments. If anyone has documentation for a model CDR-73 and could
confirm how unit number is set, I'd be grsateful.
