PMFJI, but — the 3000 has a processor upgrade socket. It is capable of using
any processor board that someone develops for it. RISC is just another way of
designing a processor architecture. There's your shred of truth.
As far as why no one has developed a RISC accelerator, it's probably because
there are relatively few 3000's in use. There are also few 68040 accelerators
that fit the 3000. There are more for the 1200 – which sold better.
