Hello, I am Amiga illiterate, but it looks to me like I have found a safe place here. I too have a friend with an Amiga 500. He is an older gentleman with no computer experience, but he would like to corrospond with cousins in Texas via e-mail. He recently bought a Supra 14.4 modem and cable and was disappointed to find that the disk for Compuserve/Windows was not what he needed. I don't know how much memory his machine has, but he has DOS 1.3 and no hard drive. he said he uses something called Scribble for word processing but hasn't figured out how to save a file. Before I go over and show him how to do that, I thought I'd get some opinions on the practicality of upgrading his machine vs. buying a new one. Any thoughts, ideas (even derisive ones) or pointers will trully be appreciated. TIA, Ed
