<If this is an error for the socket.library…you have a blank line as the
first line of the file or an error in the config…. delete the blank line and
try again. Just for reference here is my ENVARC:SOCKETCONFIG>
I don't know if this error message refers to the socket.config file but here's
mine. There's no blank line.

Since I am only using one server at present (Cis), I don't think I have to use
"UMASK".
Any other suggestions appreciated. I'm still getting the "error in my
config-file line 1" in trying to "connect Thor".
