I received a call from a user last night who has an unusual problem. He has an Amiga 4000 with a 1960 monitor, running AmigaDOS 3.0. When he selects ScreenMode preferences, his only selections are NTSC related. When he first got his system, he had all of the Monitor types displayed, but now only NTSC is available. (Yes, I had him check to see if the others just weren't visible because they were scrolled out of the window. This was not the case.) First, I had him list devs:monitors, and he has all of the usable monitor types in the drawer. (NTSC, PAL, DBLNTSC, DBLPAL, Super72) Second, I had him read his startup-sequence line by line, it's unchanged from the released version. (The check for Monitors is in place. I had him execute the "List" to the screen and it found all of the monitor types which I listed above.) Several years ago, I ran into the same problem on my 4000, but I don't remember how I solved it. Does anyone have any suggestions? My own suspicion is that something he installed overwrote a library or handler file, but I don't know what to check for. Clint <Chaocity>
