LW4.0 Upgrade
Jim,
I'm running a 100 Mhz Pentium.
My CPU external speed can be set to 50, 60, or 66, and the internal speed to
1.5 or 2 times the external speed. The stock setup was 66 and 1.5, so I
jumpered it to 60 and 1.5.
I haven't notice any perceptible slowdown, but I haven't benchmarked it
either.
DPS says they have a software fix coming, so it should be only temporary any
way. I don't have any specific info on 120 or 133 Mhz.
Since I never had a PAR, I can't compare artifacting. I can only say that -I-
don't see any artifacting at all. I'm sure it's there, cause it's still M-JPEG,
and I'm viewing on a Sony Trinitron 13" TV, not a production monitor.
If you give me an example of a scene or type of shot that produces the
artifacts you're talking about, I'll check it out. Usually it's a still with a
gradient background or something, right?
