#Points on a spline?

Yep, that was it. Worked fine. Now, say I sweep a shape and get an object. Then I create another spline with a different curve, turn in into an object, fracture and tweek it to get the same # of points, then sweep it exactly as I did the 1st one. I now have 2 objects same # of points and faces, but different (wonderfully smooth) shapes. How can I use STATES to morph from on shape to the other with a tacked down texture map? I went through the tutorial and can get it to work by tweeking a single object, but tweeking the starting object shape to the final object shape would be a nightmare. Also, can I deform only slected faces of an object? Or do I have to do the whole thing? Thanks in advance (the first tip helped alot), Jeff
