Rico: I haven't gotten into NT all that much yet, and there certainly _has_ been some "hype" regarding it. But, I hardly think that saying that it can't deal w/ an unstable/un-optimized set of hardware is a valid criticism (it _does_ come w/ a list of compatible hardware). As has been pointed out, NT currently does not support Plug-N-Play. And, I've heard of instances where P-N-P has caused it's own set of problems (specifically where an NIC was altering it's IRQ assignment every time the machine was booted). Provided it is given bedrock hardware, as an OS, NT is _stable_. That, (and its support for hardware 3D accelerators for us, and its security features for corporate types) beyond any other reason, is what makes it so attractive. Dave
