Re the keyboard decision. I would suggest the DX line for several reasons.
The CZ line from Casio is a nice approach, it generates clean analog
sounding tones (although you can't get a real wide range filter sweep
effect). But the DX tones are in a class by themselves; they are (natural,
warm, acoustic, rich, take your pick). The smaller machines, including the
FB01 already mentioned, are four operator devices, and as such are limited
in some ways; for example, it is difficult to get a really hot splat
trumpet from four operators. Still, it is a very effective system. And,
if you decide to upgrade to a DX7 or a TX rack, you will be able to carry
the experience gained with you.
On the other hand, I have done some mixes with a CZ1000 filling in some
parts, and I have to say it sounds nice when complimenting other parts.
