Fortran
George – Sorry about the delay in replying to your reply but I've had a little
modem trouble. You comment that you like the debugger; what's it like? That
is, what capabilities? I'm glad to see your comment on the 2K lines/minute
using RAM:, I have a Starboard 2 with 2 Meg and I thought that would be the way
to go…that speed will sure help in pgm development. My applications at the
moment are principally in math (specifically x-ray crystallography)…Do you
have any personal experience with execution-time comparisons with similar C and
Fortran codes? I've gathered that (all things being equal, which of course
they never are!) that Absoft's Fortran might be somehwat slower than Manx C,
but faster than Lattice's. Any comment on that? Also, if you're interested,
you might take a look at a previous message to Robert Walker, who was also kind
enough to respond to my first message.
