Live TV CompuServe CO!
A CompuServe online conference will be televised this fall (Oct 22, 8 pm EDT)
and you are invited to be one of the stars! The Space Forum is hosting the
online element of an experiment in interactive TV, featuring live interaction
between a PBS TV show and the viewing audience. We would like to invite all
elements of the CompuServe online community to be represented in this unique
event.
Distinguished guests on TV will discuss the relationship between science
fiction and science fact while our typed remarks and reactions scroll across
the bottom of the screen as we watch and comment. The studio guests will be
able to respond to our comments directly as the show proceeds. Here are some
of the SciFi authors and scientists who will be on the show:
o G. Harry Stine (Lee Correy): Studio host. Scientist, columnist and author
of more than 40 science fiction and non-fiction books about the future.
o Ben Bova: President of the National Space Society, SF author and editor.
o Charles Sheffield: Chief Scientist, Earth Satellite Corporation and SF
author.
o Jesco Von Puttkamer: Senior Scientist at NASA, scientific advisor to "Star
Trek: The Motion Picture".
o John Stith: scientist at Kaman Sciences Corporation and SF author.
o Robert Forward: Hughes Research Laboratories scientist and SF author.
o Arthur C. Clarke, SF author and world communications expert (via uplink from
Sri Lanka).
o Numerous scientists accessing from Antarctica.
