Joe – To be honest the cost to the end user is rarely a consideration when we design hardware. Our main concern is the final results. We have been in development for about 5 years, and have always created products We wanted for ourselves first. It it turns out that the product is also wanted by consumers in a certain market, we then go through a cost reduction process, to enable us to produce it in quantity. Our VD1 is almost twice the retail cost of the Progressive unit, but we fell it is much better. We also try not to get too concerned about other packages supporting or not supporting our formats, as we elect to provide any and all formats and file descriptions which we feel are not of a proprietary natrure to PD. At $1000 for the VD1 we currently have pending orders for all we can produce and no ads have even been placed yet. So we have no concern. Even if we decided not to market the product, I have one so I'm Happy! (large grin!).
