I think the colleges are beginning to see the advantages of Amigas all over. They have them at Stanford, I understand. A friend at Brandon Univ., in Manitoba just set up an Amiga lab. I read on Usenet of many colleges that have them in various departments. The U. of Texas at Arlington – just a few blocks from me – recently held a computer art show, showing what their students were doing on Amigas. But how I do wish we could get some of those public school orders. Our system here has many computers in every building. Most of those used to be Commodore machines. But now, they say they have "moved up" to Apples and IBMs. A public school system may order up to $1,000,000 worth of computers at one time! For instance, we have 12 jr. high schools. To supply just those buildings would take 30 computers each, or 360 units, plus a few for administrators, etc., to use outside the actual classrooms.F;L big business. Then there are the 45 elementary schools, each needing a similar number of units! One of the really important things is to sell the state dept. of education on the machine and get on their order forms. But if the colleges start using Amigas, the public schools will probably follow. So any school sales are good news.
