cheath, count my vote for BCPL=TRUE. I have the complete ARP set installed and I have never had any problems. I use * all the time because it's what I'm used to. However, I think ARP should default to 100% compatibility with existing AmigaDOS. I also liked the idea mentioned earlier in this thread which said to recognize * only when it is mixed with other text as in *.c DO NOT recognize * as a wildcard when it is by itself. THEN it could be treated as CON:. ** would be legal, so if you wanted to copy ALL files from df0: to df1:, for instance, you could say COPY DF0:** DF1: I don't think that would be too much trouble and it might also serve as a simple form of protection from accidental DELETE * etc. Ray
