Gracia, The terminator that is shipped with the 4091 is to terminate the internal cable if used. There is a terminator on the 4091 itself, which normally handles the other end of the chain, _unless_ you also have something connected to the external connector. In this case (something connected to both the internal and external connectors) you will need to disable the terminator on the 4091 and add a terminator to the end of the external chain. If you don't have any of your drives connected internally, and your external case has a 50 pin ribbon cable connector at the far end of the cable, you could use the terminator sent with the 4091 to terminate the external chain.
