Mike, (hope Rick doend me butting in…) 1) the MAKE SCENE is the compression stage of the anim process. You could always stop before MAKE SCENE, but you would have a bunch of still images, each taking up its own memory. The make scene creates the .ANI files, which are compressed considerably from the originals (very similar to the difference tween individual images and a compressed ANIM file in other programs)… So.. the MAKE SCENE is to your advantage; you can do a compressed ANI if you want, or just use the uncompressed images in another animation program (ie. PFX, MakeANIM, etc); it is your choice. 2) I suspect that the reason IMPULSE d't do the disk based anim is twofold, a) time to load from disk, b) they didn't think of it. 😉 3) I have looked at the DISKAnim player in the mag, and it works, (sometimes)… the author is Andy Thut, who is responsible for most of PageFlipper PFX, and who knows his stuff. I have found several random-type crashes when testing it so far, don't know if it is my machine/utilities (which don't cause other problems) or if it has problems. I suspect that since it runs under his new ARexx-compatible semi-OS, that it might be the program. Still, generally I have found it to work, and it is welcome! ttfn –jp–
