Chuck: One thing you failed to mention was the price difference I can buy two, almost two Microns for the price of a DEC, 32megs ram and 2gig SCSI2 hd . You can't beat Micron for memory. and 3ds needs all it can get. Also I belive most of the support for the AXP 21066 are contained in the Processor itself,( no need for support chips unlike 80×86 architecture) that is why DECXL'S can be fully upgraded. Why all the fuss about the AXP untill we know the direction of things to come for certain. What about the new M1 chip from Cyrix it is superscalar without recompilation and might be out this year!
