Michael, Microsoft (in all their wisdom, etc.) did not make AmigaBasic to be compatible with any of the 680×0 chips that use the upper 8 bits of the address. Therefore, AmigaBASIC cannot work on the 68020/30 chips, and would be useless in the 3000, which has no 68000 chip to fall back on. I'm told that they are working on an update, but no announcement has been made. I've not tried HiSoft BASIC on the 3000, and only gave it minimal use on the 2500/030, but it has given me no problems when I have tried it. I was told that Commodore is thinking seriously of NOT offering BASIC with the future Amigas. It seems that their marketing department thinks no one is interested in having BASIC there. Those of us who like having it really need to get in touch with their marketing department and give them some good reasons for continuing to supply it. .Betty
