You need upper side band and lower side band. NOT a reciever with a BFO – don't let anyone talk you into that under ANY circumstances. You also need a reciever that will tune in 100 Hz increments MINIMUM, preferably 10 Hz – or if it's an analog tuner (not a digital display) that will be fine. Ideally, you want a very stable reciever, but that's impossible to tell on a swap table. Really good radios: Kenwood R5000, R2000 Yaesu FRG-7 If you can find any of those, buy them (if you can afford them). Finally, you will be most interested in frequencies from 29 Mhz to 1.6 Mhz – so you need a wide-spectrum COMM reciever.
