I think you are right. I just did a ten minute experiment. Tube with a light in it, aimed at a sphere a bit away…. both tube and sphere are SHADED (not that that makes any difference in this case)… 1. with light source (axis) as BRIGHT, the tube did not contain the light. (FULL TRACE) 2. with light source as SHADED, the tube contained the light onto a pinpoint on the shpere. (just the effect he wanted, if I remember right) (FULL TRACE) Note: you must be in FULL TRACE rendering to get this effect. If you are in SOLID MODEL mode then you will never get the pinpoint light shading effects. Thanks for the clarification. –jp–
