#PRO350 debugging helps?
I have a Pro/350 that crashes intermittently and could use some help
finding tools to track the problem down. I am already working on the
simple hardware-level approaches (remove boards and try again; power-supply
fan; power-supply cable), but it would sure be nice if we could do the
kinds of things we used to do on 11M-Plus: crash dumps, XDT, or examining
memory from the console front panel or ODT. None of these are present on
the Pro – so how does anybody resolve problems without DEC around to
perform their magic?
Sources of information other than the standard Pro and Pro/Toolkit
documentation sets – or just tips that would be useful for someone who's
well-versed on 11M/M+ internals but completely unfamiliar with the Pro –
would be greatly appreciated. I've also posed this question in the PDP11
conference, but thought I'd get more exposure here.
