Betty, I agree with your assessment of the situation. The machine definitely is new in terms of prior usage. I suspect that Commodore had some old machines left over with the old boards in them that they hadn't sold. I'm fairly certain that you couldn't buy the old boards separately, since they have been replaced by the newer boards. Since this system was already configured with the old boards, but still unused and unsold, CBM probably figured they could unload it in a package deal. My dilemma is that I didn't purchase the system from Commodore. As I previously stated, I agreed to accept the computer from a company as payment for services rendered. It's the company that purchased the computer and who has been dealing with Commodore. I feel somewhat bad that when I advised the company of the problem, they misinterpreted my statements and thought I was ungrateful. They couldn't understand why I didn't like the computer, since it was so much better than my Amiga 500. I tried to explain that I wasn't complaining about their actions, but rather that I was informing them that CBM may have pulled a fast one on them and that they should be angry with CBM for not getting what they bargained for. A 2500/30 would be nice, but I believe it would cost more than my 2500/20. However, the 2090A and 2091 both list for the same price, so I'm pushing to exchange the 2090A for the 2091. The problem is that unless I remove the 2090A myself and ship it back and then install the 2091 myself, I'll have to ship back the whole computer and have CBM send another one. I'll also have to remount the hard drive in the 5 1/4" bay so I'll have room for my second floppy that should have come with the system originally. All without installation manuals. I'm sure I'll resolve it soon and I'll keep you posted. Dom Fontana
