Word processing
If you use the regular 10-pitch font, you can use any word processor to
place text to the nearest tenth-inch because they all tell you what
position your cursor is. If you need finer placement or proportional
fonts, both PageStream and ProPage allow placement of text to at least the
nearest hundredth inch, with on-screen rulers.
