I would be interested in seeing you make the case that you find it offensive to use "hateful" or "frustrating" or "shoddy" in place of a profanity. Let me assume someone had been maltreated by adherents of a particular faith, who hold the name "Frobozz" to be holy. I could sympathize with his taking delight in avenging their misdeeds by describing a third-party's poor-quality software module as "a piece of frobozz," but I might hold it up as an example of bad manners, even if he presented evidence that the liklihood of an adherent ever reading the message were vanishingly small.
