If it just removes words, you'de be in the same ridiculous situation as television, where people can't say "<bleep>", but they can talk _about_ <bleep>ing and engage in <bleep>ing all they want. How could the filter recognize an offensive idea? It would need AI. But the AI might be offended by the input as well, so _it_ would need a filter. Did you say something about GEB? Oh please oh please, master Doug, give us more! As much as I try to respect others' feelings, I cannot empathize with people that try to restrict the usage of certain sequences of bytes. I might want to abolish the word "microsoft", but only as a proper noun — the adjective meaning would remain. "You wrote your program such that it won't run on a 68030!?! That was a pretty microsoft thing to do!"
