Whaddya wanna know? There are three levels of editing available: a mod
to home VCRs for crude editing at $200-500, cuts-only editing on Panasonic
AG1750 (VHS) or 1760 (SVHS) to +/-7 frames (~$1200) or +/- 1 frame ($2000),
and full A/B-roll (up to 9 devices on-line), frame accurate systems ($5,300
for frame-accurate cuts, $8,000+ for A/B), for any professional tape
machine/switcher combinations.
There is also edit list management (EDLP: Edit List Processor, my own
program), single-frame recording (Transport Controller, also mine), and a
SMPTE time code reader/generator specifically for the Amiga ("TCRG-102", by
some strange coincidence, also mine). Info on all these is available in
DL10 of the AmigaVendor Forum.
Of course, any PC can become an editing controller (all the Amiga stuff
is less expensive). However, the Amiga also becomes the Chyron, the Dubner
Animation System, the still-store, etc.
