Don, I concur. Since it seems generally accepted that the use of
"profanity" is generally not neccessary, I suggest that it is used _solely_
to give emphasis to the statement. If it is not clear from context whether
the emphasis is positive or negative, then I guess the 'speaker' can't
!!communicate (a point which has been in question since this thread began)
