My advice is to check into your local Commodore dealer. The A2320's are
out now, and are quite impressive. The A2320 is Commodore's answer to
MicroWay's Flicker Fixer. It's basically the same de-interlacer, but costs
a few hundred $$ less! In Canada, they're retailing for about $450, so I
would assume that they'd be about $375-$400 in the states. You can use a
genlock with them, but it has to be external (same goes for the MicroWay
board) because the A2320/Flicker Fixer sits in the video slot.
So, in answer to your questions: 1) a GenLock allows you to overlay the
computer's graphics over a regular NTSC/PAL video image (like what comes
out of your VCR). 2) Yes, most definately, you can feed information to
it. If you couldn't, it would be useless. And, as I mentioned above, the
frame grabber has to external to the computer (ie: video source->frame
grabber->A2320/Flicker Fixer->computer/monitor).
