Leslie,
If you're familiar enough with the AmigaDos root sector layout, you
can force a drive to show as valid by setting the 'valid bitmap' flag.
However, if you don't know what you're doing…you can mess things up
worse.
However, the real problem is 2 files claiming the same sector,
thats the key number error.
You'd have to find that file and delete it…but that requires the
valid bitmap flag be set.
You can do one of two things:
Even with the validation error…the files are still readable, so
simply make a backup of everything except TRASH. Then reformat the drive
using the QUICK option (only takes a few seconds) and then restore the
files.
Reformat as above, and then start over again copying files from the
SyQuest.
