#PROFESSIONAL HELP!
Good News!
I believe that I was sucessful in selling my current employer on the
merits of 3d presentations this morning! (using my "crash prone"
quickly-put-together flic) Now for the questions(g)!:
I will be creating a proposal(?) for animations-the options:
1. I work as a consultant, using my own equipment, and charge on an hourly
or per-project basis.
2. The company purchases the required hardware and software for a DOS
based (3DStudio) animation and "video production" suite. Where I would be a
salaried employee.
3. Same as #2, but workstation (unix) based system.
Questions:
1. Can anyone give me a ballpark figure for what I should charge as a
'consultant'? If there's a difference, I'm located in the Boston area.
I
would like to charge a reasonable amount, but I don't want to scare them
off.
2. I feel comfortable selecting the dos system, but would like to know
what
some mid-end and some low-end video systems (VTR(s), controller, graphics
card?) might consist of.
3. I'm kind of a die-hard 3DS fan, but if anyone has had any experience
with
a unix based 3D system, this information would be appreciated. (program,
workstation, other?)
Thanks for any help! Keeping my fingers crossed(bg)!
