The World Building Toolkit that comes shipped with 3D Studio is full of
examples. If you didn't get it you should contact your dealer.
Syndesis is selling one called 3D-ROM. It has 500 or so meshes on it, and
lots of tileable texture maps. I haven't seen it personally, but it sounds
great, cost is @$200, I think. John Foust, are you ready to jump in?
Viewpoint, Acuris, Tom Knight, etc… are model builders who sell models on
a single or package basis and will custom create models from your specs, as
will many animation consultants/independents/companies on this forum. If
you need highly accurate models fast, this can be a cost effective way to
go. And it's not _really_ cheating <g>.
As far as learning curve goes, I think with a package this large the curve
never ends.
