Roger:
Usually, the public screen name appears on the screen titlebar. If for
some reason these programs don't put it there (and I have no idea why they
wouldn't) try using a program like the Amiga Real Time Monitor (ARTM) to
find the screen names.
Creathost() isn't used to launch programs. You use that when you need to
start an ARexx function host for use with RexxArpLib.
If you can find them, get the issues of Amiga World Tech Journal
containing the articles on rexxarplib written by Marv Weinstein. They
explain everything about communicating with function hosts, using
rexxarplib, and some tricks on addressing DOS from Arexx.
