The degaussing circuit in your monitor is proably on a timer or thermal switch. Try turning it off for more than a few minutes, and when you turn it on you should hear an extra low thumping noise as the auto-degausser kicks in for a second. Most monitors do have built in degaussers, esp brand names like Seiko. Erik Flom
