Well, you haven't said *anything* about your configuration, software,
etc., but if you happen to be running Windoze 3.1…
I tried turning on "32-bit disk access" as an experiment and had a problem
with floppy drive access similar to what you describe. If I changed disks
and did a "DIR A:" I would get the old disk's directory. So I changed the
setting back to turn off this access.
If you don't know what this is, then this probably doesn't apply to you
assuming you installed WIN from original disks (the default for this
setting is to leave it off). If you have not installed from the original
disks, however, select the "386 Enhanced" icon in the Control Panel and
then choose the "Virtual Memory" button and look at the bottom of the box
that appears to check the "32-bit" setting.
Maybe this will help *if* you're running Windoze…
