360×480 and 320×240 aren't VESA modes… they're regular VGA "tweaked" modes,
meaning that some clever programmers figured out a way to reprogram the VGA
into such strange modes as 320×400, 320×480, 320×240, 360×480, etc. To learn
how to do this, look for John Bridges' VGAKIT, which is probably available over
in GRAPHSUP, or a book by Michael Abrash called … well, I forget what it's
called, but it's a collection of his Programmer's Journal graphics columns.
