#imagine texture maps

My wife has been using Fractal Design Painter 2.0 for Windows ($300) to create some excellent brush maps. It simulates real artist's tools (chalk, oil brush, water color, magic marker etc.) and on a 24bit display it looks REAL!!! She's used it to make some wood textures (much better than the wood texture in Imagine), patterns on furniture and a painting. It outputs PCX and Targa files, both of which I think Imagine PC can use for brush maps. You might also look at Photoshop for Windows but its a couple hundred more. Limey
