This is a subtle distinction; all it means is that NewTek could ship an extra disk containing Win32s DLL extensions for regular Windows 3.1, and then any Windows 3.1 user could run LW. WinNT is naturally 32-bit, and runs Win32s without hassle or extra software. As long as LW doesn't do anything explicitly only available under Windows NT, then it can run on Windows 3.1 under Win32s. BTW, most of the 3D programs you see for Windows these days are actually Win32s applications (Caligari, Envisage, Visual Reality, etc.) They get the 32-bit speedup under WinNT and can run under Win 3.1, too. Win32s is Microsoft's version of the kind of 32-bit-under-Windows technology that was available from several compiler vendors (Watcom, Metaware, etc.) for many months before Win32s…
