You could try using the sequence:
3ds render filename /#0,200
substitute your number of frames for 200, I just used 200 as an example.
I have used this command quite a lot and it always seems to work OK, however I
have noticed that you have set the perameters for file type and viewport and
save the file before you go to slave rendering.
