CompuServe Messages

I was frustrated, David, but not with you. I'm frustrated at CIS's habit of automatically deleting messages before I get a chance to read 'em (we're WAY too busy here for us to be able to get messages more than about twice a month!). On GEnie, each message stays put until deleted by the person who posted it, or by a Sysop. There are messages in the RoundTable I'm an Assistant Sysop of which are well over a year old. So long as the Topic doesn't get too full, they'll stay there for another year or more. As noted, people often quote other messages here precisely because of this situation. On GEnie, one need only say, "I really like what you said in your message #379!" and anyone who wants can go back and read #379, even months later.
