One-line-itis
<The Obfuscated C book is actually very, very good as a learning experience.
It shows things you can do in C that you might never have dared to imagine
existed. I'd rather recommend "Code Complete" as a guide to writing clear C
code, though. When I bought it, I was quite comforted to find that I followed
almost all of its guidelines already. :-)>

During the last few days I've gone through (selectively):
The Waite's Group New C Primer Plus (OK)
Writing Solid Code (Very Good)
The Best C/C++ Tips Ever (Excellent)
Barnes and Nobles just loves to see me coming! ( I bought even more astronomy
books the week before).
Now I'm skimming "The C++ Programming Language" (by Bjarne Stroustrup). I was
pleased the find that even he is not immune to one-line-itis. For example, on
page 82:
case'0': case '1': case '2': case '3': case '4':
Well, just a mild "case."
