That's one of the first things that went through my mind too. I suppose
they could put the AGA chipset on a card for now or even just use one of
the current third-party boards; then when they have a new chipset ready,
they can put it on a card too. Of course, that course of action would
require either another rewrite of the OS or a driver setup (a la WinDoze).
About his wanting to have the Amiga's future decided by users — I, for
one, wouldn't mind seeing new graphics chips that are capable of the stuff
some of these new game systems can do. Wouldn't it be nice to have
high-speed, shaded, texture-mapped polygon rendering functions built into
the hardware — especially for, say, 3D animation previews in real time?
(And 24-bit is a must.)
