Peter: "Tot siens" is 18 months at the University of Leiden nearly 25 years ago. Learning Dutch was very difficult because most of the people wanted to practice their English. In fact, the Dutch are crazy about languages, so it was very difficult to find people to practice Dutch with. Now that I am living in New Mexico I am determined to learn Spanish. It's difficult here becuase the locals do not speak a quality form. First, it's an old Spanish form which has been changed by Americanisms. Most of the Hispanic people have no formal education in Spanish (education in Spanish is looked down on in this region, even by some of the Hispanics) so their knowledge is confined to an every day chit-chat form. However, I am studying it in the university here and I plan to make trips into Mexico and Chile within the next year or two. Americans are very bad about wanting to learn languages. I think this is too bad because learning another language opens up other cultures and ways of thinking to the person learning the language (let alone learning the language). My desire is to learn to think in another language and I won't stop grinding away until I get there with at least one language. What languages are you confident in? Back to the Emulator problems…. did you have trouble getting System 7 onto your harddrive and running? It seems getting it on the machine is a problem even with an HD floppy drive. I still have not receive my HD floppy drive, so I am not even attempting to get System 7 on my harddrive. I have System 6.0.5 on the harddrive and it was working under AMax II+, but AMax IV does go to it or at least it crashes the minute it goes to it. Would you state in some detail how you got your system up and running as you seem to be the only person I know of who has AMax IV and WB 3.1 running together. Regards, Norm
