Hello, I'm trying to map a *.gif image of a window pane on to the sides of an octagon. Unfortunately, after several attempts using planar mapping-region fit-twiddling with U SCALE AND V SCALE and the offsets I only get: 1-incomplete mapping on two sides that are streaked 2-The remainder of sides are not centered perfectly in the middle but off to one side. The only side that was centered was the original face used for the mapping coordinates. Shifting the U-SCALE does not correct for centering of map to the sides of the shape. Face mapping a multi sided object such as this mesh only tiles several windows across a face….definitely not what I want. According to Inside 3D-STUDIO the recommended procedure is to detach faces individually then reattach. Oh yea, what if in the future I decide to make a 17 sided figure with the same idea? Detaching faces in this instance is so tedious and such a waste there must be another way. ANYONE!!!!!!???
