I don't know the names of any of the places we stopped at, but after one
disasterous camping/fishing trip, a friend and I abandoned trip and decided to
drive back to Chicago as fast as we could. We stopped for lunch in some far
north little town. The food was sooooo good, that we got a room and stayed in
the town for dinner, and then breakfast the next day. Coming back south, we
steered clear of the interstates and took county highway type roads. Nearly
every small town has one or two 'decent' restaurants. It took us three days to
make an eight or nine hour trip. <g>
