If you don't get other answers to your question about details on any earthquake in asia, you might try looking up the 1932(?) Tokyo earthquake. Since it was a large quake in a major city, you might be able to dredge some data out of encyclopedias and good history books. I believe the epicenter was somewhere near downtown Tokyo. I do know that one of the results is that the really tall buildings in Tokyo are built in the outlying Shinjuku district — 15km from downtown. For whatever reason, it was relatively undamaged in that quake, and when the Japanese started building large buildings in the 1960s, they hoped that the geology there is such that earthquake forces are moderated.
