Gary,
>> You have given me a vicarious experience of what "life on the outside" is
like. <g> Gracias! <<
You're welcome – my intent is to entertain. It was an incredible trip. I didn't
meet Ana, although I contacted her. She was back in Florida already. She did
give me some advice on what to eat <g>. Barcelona was a very pleasant surprise,
I'd been there in 1980 for about 2-4 hours between trains (heading for
Marrakesh, ultimately) and really hadn't even scratched the surface of how
impressive the city was. Things have changed a lot since then, I believe,
because of the general liberalization of things following General Franco's
death and also a clean-up for the '92 Olympics. Do visit if you get a chance,
and if you get tired of the city there's always easy access to more tranquil
mainland areas and islands.
It's good to be back, I do have a new appreciation for where I live and what
good value America is – Europe ain't cheap anymore with today's dollar exchange
rates.
I've got a lot of catching up to do too, software wise. Anything dramatic
happen while I was away?
ciao!
Martin
