skin
From page 5 of the Disk 6 manual, at the start of the Skin tutorial….
"NOTE: Although you can assign other types of mesh objects as templates for
Skin, we strongly recommend that you use the 3D Lofter to make your template
objects. Skin uses the order of the vertices in the mesh to properly apply the
Bezier patch, and the 3D Lofter creates the vertex order correctly. Other mesh
objects produce unpredictable results."
And the Valid Template Objects section lists valid objects as…
"Lofted objects in which the shapes consist of a single polygon…, a 2D grid
made with…", and several primitive objects made in the 3D editor.
Most meshes from companies like Viewpoint are digitized, NOT lofted,
and many of these have been cleaned up, had vertices deleted, etc, and
therefore do not fall into the catagory of Valid skin objects as listed in the
manual.
