Hi, folks! Well, who was that person who said: "The more memory, the better."? Hmmm…? My ALR P5-90 was doing fine with 64MB of ram but when I added another 64M to bring it up to 138M (8M are on the motherboard) some trouble began. First, I had to replace the PCI ATI-Mach64 with the Diamond Stealth-64 because the ATI only allowed 16 colors! I've since heard that ATI has a fix for this but it's moot now. Second, I peddled down to Quarterdeck and picked up QEMM386 V. 7.04 thinking the USERAM parameter would allow 3ds3 to see the extra memory. Not. Chances are that I'm not setting it correctly? <bg> My line reads: DEVICE=C:\QEMM\QEMM386.SYS RAM RH:N USERAM=72M:64M The guy at Quarterdeck support gave me the "RH:N" switch because he said a PCI slot "likes it". Then he said to Optimize with the /RN switch. Trying several combinations, I've gotten 3ds3 to recognize 80M, tops. Ok, guys, what's the fix? I give up. Cheers, BB
