Dave, Your opening remarks suggested you have a softkick machine. If so, I think you need a softkick version of 3.1. It seems to me that I remember they mentioned in the packing stuff that came with mine and listed available versions, that a softkick version was available. You might want to check on that. As for SetPatch, you should use the version that comes with 3.1, which is 40.16. Be sure you don't have more than one setpatch in the c: directory and that it's the right version. Of course, the only other thing to suggest is to be sure you installed the ROMs in the correct sockets. I think ROM 0 is in the bottom socket and ROM 1 is in the top, but I don't know if that's correct since I can't see them in my machine right now to know for sure.
